1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any page, tool, or content on quizrebel.com (“Quiz Rebel,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue use of Quiz Rebel immediately. Your continued use of the site following any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Usage License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Quiz Rebel grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use our word game tools solely for the following permitted purposes:

• Personal entertainment: Assisting with word games including Scrabble, Wordle, Words with Friends, crosswords, and similar word puzzles for personal, non-commercial use.
• Education: Exploring vocabulary, learning tournament word lists, and developing word game skills.
• Research: Academic or personal research into the English language and tournament word lists, provided no automated extraction occurs.

This licence does not include any right to resell or commercially exploit Quiz Rebel or its content; collect or use any word lists, data, or content for commercial purposes; or create derivative works based on our proprietary software logic or word engine.

3. Prohibited Uses

You agree that you will not, under any circumstances:

• Scrape, crawl, or harvest our word database, tool outputs, or any content from Quiz Rebel using automated scripts, bots, spiders, or similar technology.
• Reproduce or redistribute our 178,000+ word list or any substantial portion of it without prior written consent.
• Use automated queries to mass-extract results from our Word Unscrambler, Anagram Solver, Wordle Helper, or Scrabble Dictionary in a manner that degrades performance for other users.
• Reverse engineer our word engine, search algorithms, frequency maps, or trie-based lookup systems.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security feature, rate limiting, or access control on Quiz Rebel.
• Use Quiz Rebel in any unlawful manner or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international regulation.
• Transmit malicious code, viruses, or any technology that may harm Quiz Rebel, its users, or its infrastructure.
• Commercially exploit our tools — including reselling query results, embedding our tools in paid products, or using our word data to train machine learning models without a commercial licence.

4. Intellectual Property

All original content on Quiz Rebel is the exclusive property of Quiz Rebel and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. This includes, but is not limited to:

• The Quiz Rebel name, logo, and brand identity.
• The design, layout, user interface, and visual elements of the site.
• The word engine software, including search algorithms, frequency analysis code, trie data structures, and Wordle filter logic.
• All original editorial content, strategy guides, blog articles, and descriptive copy.
• The specific selection, arrangement, indexing, and curation of our word database.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any Quiz Rebel intellectual property without our prior express written consent.

The underlying words in our dictionary are part of the public domain English language and are not claimed as proprietary. Our selection, curation, indexing, and technical implementation of those words is proprietary.

5. Third-Party Trademarks & Disclaimer of Affiliation

Quiz Rebel is an independent, unofficial tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any of the following trademark holders:

• Scrabble is a registered trademark of Hasbro, Inc. in the United States and Canada, and of Mattel, Inc. in all other countries.
• Wordle is a registered trademark of The New York Times Company.
• Words with Friends is a trademark of Zynga Inc.

References to these trademarks on Quiz Rebel are made solely to describe the compatible use cases for our tools and do not imply any affiliation, endorsement, or commercial relationship with the respective trademark owners.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Quiz Rebel is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability — that our tools are fit for any particular commercial purpose.
• Warranties of fitness for a particular purpose — including fitness for use in any specific game, competition, or context.
• Warranties of accuracy or completeness — while we maintain our word list against established tournament lexicons (TWL06/SOWPODS), we cannot guarantee that every word result is valid in every game rule set, every edition of a game, or every jurisdiction.
• Warranties of uninterrupted availability — we do not guarantee that Quiz Rebel will be available at all times, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Quiz Rebel, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Quiz Rebel or its tools.
• Loss of data, profits, or game outcomes resulting from reliance on our tools or word lists.
• Errors or inaccuracies in our word database that cause you to play an invalid word in any game or competition.
• Disruption of service due to hosting issues, network failures, or maintenance.

This limitation of liability applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if Quiz Rebel has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Third-Party Services

Quiz Rebel integrates with the following third-party services. Your use of Quiz Rebel constitutes acknowledgment that these services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which are independent of Quiz Rebel:

• Google AdSense / Google LLC: Used to display advertising on Quiz Rebel. Google may use cookies to serve interest-based ads. See Google’s advertising policies.
• Google Fonts: Used to deliver typography via CDN. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Hostinger: Our web hosting provider. Standard server access logs are maintained by Hostinger per their terms of service.
• Tailwind CSS CDN: Stylesheet delivery service. No personal data is collected by this service.

Quiz Rebel is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party service. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement.

9. Privacy

Your use of Quiz Rebel is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Our tools process all queries locally in your browser — the letters you type never reach our servers. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details on data collection, cookies, and your rights under GDPR and CCPA.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.

Your continued use of Quiz Rebel after any changes are posted constitutes your binding acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using Quiz Rebel.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to Quiz Rebel at any time, without notice and without liability, for any reason including but not limited to: violation of these Terms, abuse of our tools, automated access attempts, or any conduct we determine to be harmful to Quiz Rebel or its users.

Upon termination, all licences granted under these Terms will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and governing law — will survive.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Where applicable, the laws of the State of Delaware shall apply as a supplementary framework.

For users in the European Union, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence shall apply to the extent required by applicable EU law, and you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

For users in the United Kingdom, these Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with English law, and disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Quiz Rebel that is not resolved informally shall first be submitted to binding arbitration before a single arbitrator under standard commercial arbitration rules, except where prohibited by applicable law.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights.
